about

W.R.D. is best described by guitarist Eddie Roberts as, “60’s SoulJazz, Rare Funk Grooves & Driving Latin Beats, with a transcontinental twist and a modern mindset.” Rounded out by Robert Walter on organ and Adam Deitch on drums, the trio has had fans chomping at the bit for both studio releases and live performances since their short stint of shows in 2011. “Bobby’s Boogaloo” appeases these diehards as the closing track of a 4-song series released by Color Red.

“We wrote all these WRD tunes very quickly right before the session and recorded everything in one or two takes. I wanted this one to capture that casual and relaxed vibe of late 60’s Blue Note and Prestige funky records. It just sounds like friends in a room jamming together. I think of it as low concept music recorded in a documentary style,” Walter remarks on the creation of “Bobby’s Boogaloo.”

Keep your ears to the ground for more releases and the possibility of live performances moving into the new year.
